Alicia Keys’ Obama Video, “We Are A Powerful Force.”

Keys recently did a video (posted 27 September 2012) for Barack Obama’s re-election campaign called “We Are A Powerful Force”.

Alicia Keys Wants A “Human” President

Back in July 2012, Alicia Keys said: “President Obama cares about the issues we care about… That’s something I know deep in my core and I think we all relate to. You see him speak, whether it’s on TV or if you get a chance to see him in person, you know that there’s a really genuine spirit that comes from him, it’s a really human spirit. That’s the spirit of a person that I’d like to see run the country – someone that’s human. Thank you! Give me someone human!” (Politico)

So, Alicia does not want to vote for a Borg. Good, neither do we.

What Is “Human” To Alicia Keys Is Human To All Of Us

Alicia Keys certainly has many reasons why she is supporting Barack Obama. However, what seems to mean nothing is Obama’s inability to turn the economy around, his running up trillion dollar deficits as far as the eye can see (his last budget was rejected by every law maker in Congress), his mishandling of the middle east, his countless broken promises, his $1.4 BILLION dollar vacation bill for the American taxpayer.

A simple psychological concept called transference. Samuel Jackson made news when he said he voted for Obama “because he was black.” Jackson also said, ““Cuz that’s why other folks vote for other people — because they look like them. That’s American politics, pure and simple. [Obama’s] message didn’t mean [bleep] to me. In the end, he’s a politician.”

Is what Jackson said so far off? Perhaps he was talking about physical appearance, but there is another component as well … shared life experiences, recognizing in someone else’s life what is or was in your own.

Obama and Keys Have Some Very Important Childhood Similarities

• Obama and Keys were both raised by single mothers.
• Obama and Keys both had difficult childhoods and their parents separated during the early years of their childhood life.
• Obama and Keys are both bi-racial with a white mother and black father.
• Obama and Keys were both ambitious and overcame many obstacles and hardships to reach incredible success.
• Obama and Keys have both been active in grass-roots organization of the black community.

President Obama has two daughters (does Keys ever imagine what it would have been like to have Obama as a father?)

This is what Keys means by someone “human.” Someone she recognizes. Herself.

Think that is a stretch? Let us know. The psychological concept of transference is pretty powerful stuff.

**FLASHBACK 2006** Keys tells Blender magazine: “`Gangsta rap’ was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other and that the bicoastal feud between slain rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. was fueled “by the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing.” (source)
